Paul Mendoza
My name is Paul Mendoza and I own and operate Advanced First-Aid,
Inc. I received paramedic training in 1989 from the University
of Iowa. Later, I earned Bachelor’s Degree at Bethel University.
Professionally, I practice my paramedic skills on an ambulance
and helicopter for North Memorial Ambulance Service. Away from
duties, I’m promoting lay rescuer AED use with CPR and first
aid training. I've been teaching these skills to lay people since
I became an EMT in 1988.
In 2001, I teamed up with Medtronic and the American Heart Association
in promoting Public Access Defibrillation (PAD). I have personally
implemented or aided PAD start-up programs in public and private
businesses across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and New York.

Pat Olson EMT-P
I've been a paramedic for Hennepin Emergency Services (HCMC) since 1990. I started my career as volunteer at my local fire department. As a volunteer firefighter/EMT I learned the value in preparedness and education.
Since the beginning, I've always been involved in education through mentoring paramedic students and by educating patients with their medical conditions. This knowledge and experience has taught me the importance of early recognition and quick action. These skills are most important in resuscitating a sudden cardiac arrest victim (SCA). The first 2-minutes of a SCA are the most crucial: Early recognition, quick action with chest compression and AED skills simply saves lives.
Away from work I enjoy camping with my wife and 2 boys, coaching and playing hockey. I also co-host an annual fund raising event, Checking for Cystic Fibrosis, a public safety hockey tournament. Along with this event, I also help champion other events that have raised thousands of dollars for medical research and treatments.
SCA strikes without warning. I have the knowledge and skill to help you be best prepared to save a life, because being prepared is your only defense.
